Our final pancake as we wrap up our celebration of National Pancake Week is very appropriate for today, because it's Valentine's Day!
Take a regular batch of pancake batter, add a little vanilla and sugar to it, and red food coloring. Then, chop up a strawberry or two into little bits, and add that in. Then, put a metal heart-shaped cookie cutter (they're really easy to find this time of year!) onto your skillet, and filled it inwith the batter. You should be able to remove it when you go to flip it, but be careful because it'll be hot!
Once the pancake is done, put some whipped cream into a bowl and mixed in some red food coloring. Top the pancake, and you have a very nice heart-shaped strawberry pancake with pink whipped cream on top!
We've been making some unique pancakes all week to celebrate National Pancake Week, and today's might be the best because, as they say, everything is better with bacon! Today's pancake is the Bacon Lover's Pancake! This is a pretty simple one to make, too. Make pancakes like you normally would, and put a couple of pieces of bacon on one. Then, top that with another pancake, and then top that with a couple of pieces of pancetta. Drizzle a little syrup on top, and viola!
The pancakes we made for today start like a regular pancake, but then we really sweetened things! Today, we've got Apples and Honey Pancakes!
Once you have your pancake batter ready, mix in about 1 and a half tablespoons of honey. You'll probably need to add some more pancake mix to thicken the battter up again. Next, skin an apple, chop it into cubes, and put the cubes in a bowl and mix them around with sugar. Using a small sauce pan on medium heat, warm the apples until they're caramelized. You might add a little bit more sugar while they're in the pan.
Once your apples are done and your pancakes are made, put a little butter on the pancakes, and top them with the caramelized apples and a little syrup. Enjoy!
Our pancake today is a pretty standard one: banana pancakes! We made them two ways: with mashed bananas in the batter, and with slices of banana in the batter. They were both delicious!
It's National Pancake week, and we're celebrating by sharing our unique creations with you all week! We're kicking it off with dessert pancakes!
1 cup of pancake mix
¾ cup of water
½ cup of unsweetened baking cocoa powder mix
1 tbsp of sugar
1 tsp of vanilla
a handful of chocolate chips
Hershey's chocolate sauce
Mix together the pancake mix and water until smooth. Mix in the cocoa powder and sugar, and then mix in the vanilla. Add in chocolate chips. Heat skillet to 325 degrees and use non-stick spray to avoid sticking or burning. Each side takes about 3 minutes. Once pancakes are ready, top with whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate sauce.
